Shelf Life

I have really been into hanging shelves in my house lately. I put two in my kitchen, and one in the stairwell. I finished gussying them up today. I think they are lovely.

Doll house portraits from Carina Romano, My Mom and Dad's wedding photo, my dental impressions wearing a wax mustache, corn cob pipe of Andy's My sister wedding, jar of Scarlett Runner beans, jar of Morning Glory seeds, Me and my Sister. On the wall is an illustration from H.S. Hansen, she did a series of lovely illustrations for classrooms. My mom had a few books at home that I used to fill my house. I also have quite the inventory or thread drawing, so I might as well enjoy them!

Another H.S. Hansen illustration, A cake plate that Genell got for my birthday, a ceramic squirrel that has seen better days, he doesn't hear so good now. Little camper, and some Montana Pine cones.Three little bunnies. The middle one came from Genell and the other two I had from home.

This is the shelf in my stairwell. Little owls accompany a buck in the Forrest. The Buck came all the way from Andy's bedroom in Montana.

It's all coming together

I have all the supplies I need
Tree photo, mirror, Get Down Here print, shelf and light. And the chair. I'm ready to hang this stuff up!

New Project: Step One

I am starting a new project. I am going to put a make-up station in my room. It will include the following steps.
  • Clean Room
  • Chair to sit on
  • Framed Art
  • Pendent Light
  • Mirror
  • Shelf/desk
  • Accessories
  • Make-up!
So far, I have started to clean up my room to make space.

And This:
This is a stool that we had from Ikea...Kind of boring.

Genell gave me some great sample fabric from Anthropologie. I sewed a drawstring around a circle and cinched it for the seat. For the backrest I sewed a rectangle, leaving two holes so I could just slide it back on the supports.

Years of New Years Together

My friend Lois had a great idea. She posted at least one photo from each month from the past year. What a cool idea to see how your kids have changed! This new Year was Andy and I's 5 year anniversary. So I thought it might be fun to look back on New Years Past.
