Broken Rand

Today I went climbing and noticed that my climbing shoes were a bit more worn than usual. So yes I broke holes in my 'new' climbing shoes. I got these in August, and already I wore through them. But to be fair I have been climbing 2-3 times a week. The unfortunate this is that I got these to replace my old shoes.

These are my old shoes. I also busted a hole through these. These however lasted me a year and 6 months. Genell my climbing partner has the same pair and are fine. I wonder what I'm doing to make so many holes! I know I climb with the inside of my right big toe, and that's why those holes are there. I'm trying to use my big toe on the wall as well as the hold. But the facts still remain. I have holes in my shoes. SO....

I ordered a new pair of shoes. These are them! With extra rand; rand is the strip of rubber that runs around the shoe, not the bottom, but the other rubbery part. So hopefully I'll get a head start on that wear and tear. I'm excited about the Velcro! I'll be able to throw them on and off at a moments notice!
I hope my new shoes get here soon, I'm afraid I'm going to have to borrow gym shoes...eww. But I'm planning on starting a re-soling fund for my two other pair. I want to get the extra layer of rand on them too, so I need to raise $120. Lets hope that my new pair last me long enough to save up for them!
